How can we print magazines more environmentally friendly?
Fine particle dispersion technology
The printing world is changing. To compete with digital printing, offset needs to adapt to the demand for high quality offset plates. This asks for an efficient production and a low environmental impact.
In order to achieve optimal printing quality, costs reduction and better service for our customers, Fujifilm developed unique technologies to achieve the quickest route from platesetter to press. To simplify and optimize plate production, processless plates have been developed using fine particle dispersion technology able to spread tiny particles on photosensitive layers. This enables that, once the plate has been imaged in a platesetter, it can be mounted directly onto the press. The removal of the plate coating has been cleverly integrated into the start-up of the press. This means a complete elimination of the processor, and the associated chemistry, energy, water and waste. Processless plate production represents the simplest and fastest way to make plates, while maintaining the high sensitivity and high quality customers are used to.
